Welcome to Solihull Swimming Club's
website, which allows existing members access to information
about all the areas within the club and also welcomes any
enquiries from potential new members who may be interested
joining this successful swimming and water polo club.
Solihull Swimming Club is a well-established club, based
at the Tudor Grange Pool in Solihull. We also use two local
school pools namely Solihull School and St. Martin's School
for Girls. With over 400 members, the club enters teams
in league and district galas throughout the year. With several
national level players, the water polo section (for boys
and girls) has achieved notable success in recent years.
The Club is friendly, competitive and caters for a wide
range of abilities from five year old beginners to experienced
competitive swimmers including an adult “Masters” section.
A Committee of volunteers, who are elected at the Annual
General Meeting each year, run the Club. Members and parents
are invited to attend the AGM and to stand for election
to the Management Committee.
All the coaches and teachers are trained under ASA courses.
The Head of Coaching, who has overall responsibility for
all teaching and coaching sessions, ensures consistency
in the way that swimming is taught in the Club.
In this website you will find information to answer many
questions about the running of the Club and the various
activities that occur during the year. Should you have any
further questions, please ask one of the committee members
or the teaching/coaching staff. If they cannot assist you,
they will direct you to the person who can.
We are always on the lookout for club sponsors and people
or businesses to sponsor teams or galas during the year.
All poolside helpers are volunteers and they carry out
a large range of different jobs, each one being a vital
contributor to the whole club. Parents who are interested
enough to do their bit, no matter how small or infrequent,
are always welcomed. |
