SSC Time Trials

In order to make more time available and accommodate more events, monthly time trials will move to the first available Sunday in each month, starting on Sunday 11 April.

Junior squads, teaching and prediddy groups will swim from 5.00 to 6.30 and Senior squads including Senior 3 and 4, (previously Intermediates) from 6.30 to 8 pm.

Each group will aim to complete at least 3 timed swims and the programme will rotate through the strokes and distances.

Sprint Award Badges

The sprint award badges are back! The Gold, Silver & Bronze award badges are available for all strokes. The qualifying times are displayed at all Time Trials or available from your Team Manager. Please check your times from the Gala & Time Trial results sent out by Dave Cooke, which will highlight qualification for a 'Gold', 'Silver' or 'Bronze' badge. All badges are 70p each. Lets see lots of 'Gold' badges being awarded at the next Time Trials

Joining the Club

Entry to the Club is normally via a trial in the presence of one of the Club coaches. Trials are held most Fridays at 8pm at the Tudor Grange pool, but please contact the Club (via email link here) or phone 07906556874 to confirm prior to arrival. This will involve swimming a number of lengths or widths, with a variety of strokes. The coach will then decide which section or group the swimmer should join.

July TT date

The July Time Trial will now take place on Sunday 10 July (not 3 July). this is because a number of officials and helpers are tied up on 3 July at the Braunstone Open meet and taking the Pool Rescue test. We hope you will all be able to attend on the new date, but apologies to anyone who can't.

There will be a normal Sunday session on 3 July

County Selection

Congratulations to Sophie Stables, Dan Moore and Helen Mockler who have been selected to represent Warwickshire on the 9th May.

Water Polo - Leanne voted best player

Our women's water polo team completed this season's National League Division Two programme last weekend with a convincing 14-5 victory over Hucknall. However, this season we have enjoyed mixed fortunes with a bright start followed by a succession of narrow defeats and draws leading up to the final victory. As a result, we ended the season mid-table compared with second place last year and third the year before.

We were pleasantly surprised to learn at the weekend that Leanne Jennings had been voted best player in the Division by the other clubs. Leanne was our top scorer with 29 goals and, despite now living in Leeds, she completed her 11th consecutive season without missing a single match - a total of 142 matches!

New club Captains (added 9 March)

We now have one overall Club Captain, Kate Hill, and two new club Junior Captains, Becky Smith and Vince Yueng- congratulations to them and good luck in their posts. If any members have ideas for improvements or club activities, they are waiting to hear from you!
